Spicy Mango Habanero Wings Recipe


Get ready for the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy with these Mango Habanero Wings! The juicy wings are coated in a fiery yet fruity mango habanero sauce, making them an irresistible treat for spice lovers.


Ingredients:

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs (900g) chicken wings (drumettes and flats.
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp oil (for baking or frying)

For the Mango Habanero Sauce:

  • 1 ripe mango (peeled and chopped)
  • 2-3 habanero peppers (seeded for less heat, or keep seeds for extra spice)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water


Instructions:


Step 1: Prepare the Wings

Oven-Baked Method:


  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the wings dry with paper towels and toss them with baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder for extra crispiness.
  • Place them on a lined baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through.


Fried Method:


  • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the wings in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain on a paper towel.


Air Fryer Method:


  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  • Arrange wings in a single layer and cook for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.


Step 2: Make the Mango Habanero Sauce

  • In a blender, add mango, habanero peppers, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, lime juice, soy sauce, garlic, paprika, salt, and water.
  • Blend until smooth.
